Then plastic surgery is the only option for the sufferer to begin a new life. However, the people who live in the highlands and forests do not have the financial means to visit a skilled plastic surgeon. Dr. Aaron is nothing short of an angel in this scenario.

Achievements

  • He went to the United States in 1982 to specialize in plastic surgery. In 1983, he bought a four-acre campus as a treatment facility for the underprivileged and a learning center for children. He has been treating burn patients for free since 1985.

Dr.Yogi's handiwork is such that he could make a lot of money even if he had his hospital in a large city, but he made it his goal to put a smile on the faces of financially disadvantaged people.

  His good deeds

Since 2006, Aeron has been running a two-week camp twice a year. During these camps, patients below the poverty line are treated for disfigured lips, cheeks, nose, and other parts of the face. Aeron gets assistance and support from a team of 15-16 US-based doctors in this venture.

On average, nearly 500 surgeries are done by a doctor who has been accorded the status of God. With over 10,000 patients on the waiting list for free treatment, Aeron constantly strives to find ways to fund the costs of those who cannot bear it.

From asking for help from his friends in India and abroad to roping in NGOs and the government, he has done it all, but the horizon is expanding.

Interestingly, his father supported him financially after becoming a father of two children and starting his job in the Dehradun district hospital.

Kush, his son, a doctor, says, “My father has never been able to manage his finances on his own. He does it for his patients, which makes him happy.

American physicians also arrived to meet Aeron .

Yogi worked in America from 1966 until 1984. He then reverted to his origins. However, several American surgeons remain linked with him and have joined his effort.

To give this activity a larger shape, Yogi founded the nonprofit Helping Hand, which arranges free surgical camps with the assistance of American physicians. Yogi has now taken another step forward in this campaign.

He established Yogi's Helping Hand Hospital near IT Park on Sahasradhara Road in Dehradun. The underprivileged are now receiving free care here as well.
